Cultural study is it about diversity . Cultural studies interdisciplinary field concerned with the role of social institutions in the shaping of culture . John Keats : Thinking Activity

Hello readers !

Welcome to my blog . This blog is part of my thinking activity task given by Heenaba zala ma'am . CLICK HERE to view about to task .

ЁЯТа John Keats

Land and Sea , weakness and decline are great separators , but death is the great divorcer for ever ".
John Keats

John Keats  was an English romantic poet who lived during the 19th century . In his short- lived life he faced many ordeals and had to witness death and suffering that shaped him as a poet and reflects in his works. John Keats  interested love and death that firmed the essence of him and his creation . He was interested in both of them and even death captivated Keats as much as love . Death played a large and disproportionate role in the life of John Keats . Keats Concept of death is paradoxical in that it must necessarily a encompass a philosophy of life as well. The poet both intensely desired life and intensely desired death. Thus it is not  surprisingly to discover that Keats' attitude toward  death follows two contradictory lines of thoughts, both of which are evidenced in his poetry and letters. The first and more unique attitude is his association of death with things desirable . The four major concept with  which Keats associates death are rebirth and its related theme of sleep and dreams and hope of immorality, love, the transiency of joy and pleasure and also peace.

Shashi Tharoor and dark era of Inglorious empire

Hello readers !

Once again welcome to my world.  This is our thinking activity task given by Dr. Dilip Barad sir on Shashi Tharoor and dark era of Inglorious empire . CLICK HERE to view about the task . So , first I would like to give some brief introduction about the Shashi Tharoor . So, let's go.

# Shashi Tharoor :-

" Western dictionaries define secularism as absence of religion but Indian secularism does not mean irreligiousness . It means profusion of religion ".

Shashi Tharoor ( born 19 March 1956 ) is an Indian politician, writer and former international diplomat who is currently serving as  member of parliament , Lok Sabha from Thiruvananthapuram , Kerala . since 2009 . He also serves as  chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on Information Technology and all India professional Congress . He formerly served as Christian committee on external affairs ( 2014 to 2019 ).

Tharoor has been a columnist in each of  India's three best known English language newspapers ,

1. The Hindu
2.Times of India
3. Indian Express

His monthly column " India reawakening" distributed by project syndicate, appears in 80 newspapers around the world . He wrote many great works like ,
  • An Era Of Darkness (2016)
  • Why I Am A Hindu (2018)
  • The Paradoxical Prime Minister (2018)
  • The Great Indian Novel (2011)

# The Era Of Darkness :-

The Era Off Darkness is published in 2016 . In An Era of Darkness, consummate debater and author Shashi Tharoor recreates The British Raj with all its horror and also elucidates the awe-inspiring struggle of India's freedom fighters . He gives us a valuable insight on how dark forces operate and on who are having us harbingers of hope . It is a valuable lesson at a time when thugs are masquerading as our saviour ..... At a time when debate has been reduced to a cacophony of slogans and insult by bhakts , Shashi Tharoor's writing , with it's expansive case studies and citations and sastained argument , all argumented by his Felicity of language , may just came as an eye opener to as all  ( Huffington Post ) .

'An Era of Darkness' is a non-fiction work of Dr. Shashi Tharoor which drastically changes the perception of colonized culture against the civilized colonizers. It also throws light on the adverse effects of the British on the Indian economy while colonialism was deeply rooted.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Welcome readers !

"The problem with gender is that it prescribes how we should be rather than recognizing how we are. Imagine how much happier we would be, how much freer to be our true individual selves, if we didn’t have the weight of gender expectations".

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie :-

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is born on 15 September 1977.  She is Nigerian writer was works range from novels to short stories to nonfiction. She was described in The times literary supplement as "the most prominent" of a "procession of a critically acclaimed young anglophone authors who is succeeding in attracting a new generation of readers to African literature ". She wrote many great notable works like ,
  •  Purple Hibiscus (2003)
  • Half Of a Yellow Sun (2006)
  • Americanah (2013)
  • We Should All Be Feminist (2014)
  • The Thing Around Your Nack (2009)

Writing style , simple her ability to develop perspective and her tone . In her all works Adichie  is able to maintain a consistent and well flushed voice- weather it's of her own or her characters. Adichi-esque writing style using the narrative . Adichie tries her best to write out multiple "stories" using different voice .

∆ Talk on importance of Story / Literature :-

" The story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story ".

Here in the first video I like here view because she talked about very lively example of the incident. She talk about how different types of story made by people. I personally like her thoughts because that is a somehow related to our culture and society . She says that stories are matter many stories matter . Stories have been used to dispossess in malign  but stories can also be used to empower and humanize . Stories can break the dignity of people but stories can also repair the broken dignity . And at the end she end here talk with this wonderful thought " That when we reject the single story , when we realise that there is a never washing a story about influence we again a kind of Paradise" .

We Should All Be Feminist :-

She explained how story is a creating by people . How we differentiate the truth from various story . In this video she talked about feminist . In which she gave many example like her schooling experience and also she talked about in her country Nigeria , without male any women don't want any bar . Other things is that the marriage, if any women who not married in a proper age then that is the big problem. Another thing is that no one teach man that to be a virgin but that the same thing is  for women that she have  to be virgin . Adichie also mention that what is the barrier for women that is the culture .

∆  Talk on importance of Truth in Post-Truth Era :-

Yes , this all the view is very important and helpful to us in better understanding of any literary works .

Conversation between Mary Shelley & Jane Austen

Mary Shelley
&
Mary Shelley

∆  Welcome readers ,

This is our thinking activity task assigned by Vaidehi ma'am . And this task about conversation between Mary Shelley and Jane Austen . Here I perform Mary Shelley and Nirali perform Jane Austen . So I hope you will like it .

Mary Shelley :-
Hello ! Jane . How are you ?

Jane Austen  :-
I am very fine. Thanks. How about you ?

Mary Shelley  :-
                  Pretty good.

Jane Austen  :-
                          Oh ! Nice.

Mary Shelley  :-
Jane, tell me something about your family.

Jane Austen :-
Yaa, sure. In my family we are Eight brother and Sisters. My father served as a rector for the rural community. I would like to tell you that I love very much my sister and also very much attached with her. This is all about my family. Tell me What about your family.

Mary Shelley  :-
My father William Godwin is philosopher and political writer. I never really knew my mother who died shortly after my birth. I have Step mother. Her name is Mary Jane Clairmont and also I never got along with my stepmother.

Jane Austen  :-
Can I ask you one question? Mary.

Mary Shelley  :-
Yes, of course. Why not ?

Jane Austen :-
Where you got inspiration for writing your works .

Mary Shelley  :-
My father had a number of distinguished guests during my childhood, including Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth. While I didn't have a formal education and also I make great use of my father's extensive library. I could often be found reading. Sometimes by my mother grave and I also liked to daydream, escaping from her often challenging home life into my imagination.

Where from you got this elegant writing inspiration ?

Jane Austen  :-
I got inspiration of writing in my father's library and that of a family friend Warren Hastings. Together these collections amounted to a large and varied library. My father was also tolerant of my sometimes risque experiment in writing and provided me and my sister with expensive paper and other material for their writing and drawing.

Thinking activity : Arundhati Roy

Hello readers ,

" Nothing mattered much. Nothing much mattered. And the less it mattered the less it mattered . It was never important enough . Because Worse Things had happened . In the country that she  come from poised forever between the terror of war and the horror of peace Worse Thing kept happening".

~Arundhati Roy

Welcome to my blog . We all know that an author is the creator or originator of any written work such as a book or play . So, here thi is our thinking activity task given by Dr. Dilip Barad sir. Here I'm put my view on Arundhati Roy .

Suzanna Arundhati Roy she was born on November 24, 1961 , Shilling , Meghalaya , India . Arundhati Roy is an Indian author ,  actress and Political activist who was best known for the award winning novel . The God Of Small Things  (1997) and for her involvement in environmental and human rights causes , often putting herself at odds with Indian legal authorities and the country's middle-class establishment . She drew criticism for her vocal support of Maoist supported Naxalite  insurgency   groups , view to summarized in the volume  Walking With The Comrades  (2011)  while Roy was leading efforts to prevent the construction of the project accused her of attacking them at a project in 2001 .

In  1997 Roy published her the novel The God of Small Things to wide acclaim  . The semi-autobiographical work departed from the conventional plots and light prose that have been typical among best sellers. Roy's novel become the biggest selling book by nonexpatriate Indian author and won the 1998 Man Booker prize for fiction . Roy's subsequent literary output largely consisted of politically oriented nonfiction , much of it aimed at addressing the problem of  faced by  her homeland in the age of Global capitalism .
